“I want our food to be a new culinary adventure for those who are still unfamiliar with dim sum,” says Shannon Mai. Her family runs Lam’s Garden, a Chinese seafood restaurant that’s been in operation for nearly 30 years. She grew up alongside the restaurant with a family who experimented in the kitchen, which cultivated her passion for dietetics.

This East Colonial restaurant specializes in traditional Chinese cuisine, while also serving Chinese American bites. This restaurant is an O.G. dim sum spot, introducing the hype dining experience to the Orlando scene in 2008. Take a peek at our eats!

🥟 Dim Sum

Visitors can enjoy dim service via push cart on Saturdays and Sundays, where the environment is bustling with energy. Their steamer baskets offer classic Chinese bites, including shrimp dumplings and Shumai. The open-face dumplings hold a savory flavor, delivered by pork and shrimp juices.

🍗 Peking Duck

This traditional Chinese dish in indulgently juicy and crispy at the same time. Though the meat has a slightly gamey taste, the oils keep the meat juicy to bring out the flavor. The skin has a slight crisp to it, adding a satisfying salty texture to each bite.

🥬 Green Beans

This plate is a heaping serving of string beans, intended for sharing among the entire table. The green beans are stir fried, presumably with soy sauce for a slightly salty taste. The minced pork adds a savory element to the vegetable plate.

🍡Sesame Balls

These sesame balls are a warm treat that complete a happy ending to a dim sum meal. The red bean filling is slightly sweet, with a sticky paste texture that matches the sticky rice coating. The thin, deep fried outer layer helps wrap everything together.

Dim sum is an experience for families to celebrate special occasions or honor each others company. There’s a flavorful new taste in each steam pot, so there’s a bite that will satisfy everyone at the table. If you’re up for a hype dining experience where you can feel energy constantly flowing throughout the room,, definitely check this place out for dim sum! Otherwise, join them on daytime during the week for a chill buffet experience.

“There’s always new spots opening up, but we’ve become a staple here in the community.” assures Shannon.
