“There’s not a lot of Malaysian street food places in Orlando,” says Paige, Manager of Mamak Asian Street Food, “it’s the twist in our flavors that set us apart.” Paige has been with the family-owned business since it opened, helping serve Southeast Asian bites to the local Orlando community for nearly 5 years.

The mamak concept derives from Malaysia, with open-air food stalls being a staple in Southeast Asia. Mamak Asian Street Food in Orlando provides those Southeast Asian flavors in an aesthetic way. The restaurant has a cozy vibe, illustrated through a warm yellow wall and hanging light fixtures. The dishes are made from scratch, and hold an authentic flavor.

🍛 Coconut Kari

This Malaysian-focused dish features fresh ground curry that’s rich in spice, balanced by a hint of coconut. The texture is creamy while still maintaining a runny texture. It’s served alongside a bed of jasmine rice and garnished with sliced cucumbers for a moist crunch.

🍝 Mee Goreng

This signature Penang dish features egg noddles tossed with of shrimp, fried tofu, bean sprouts, onions, carrots, and scallions. The noodle medley is wok-fried in brown chili sauce that has a hint of sweetness, topped with roasted peanuts and lime for an acidic depth.

🦐 Pan-fried Noodles

The bed of wonton egg noodles in this dish is pan-fried, topped with chicken and shrimp for a land & sea flare. The carrots, baby corn, and straw mushroom add to the variety in texture. The brown gravy brought all the diverse ingredients together with a savory tang.

🍳 Nasi Goreng

This the kick of heat in this signature Indonesian dish is pronounced with sambal-infused fried rice. This dish features a variety of protein with shrimp, chicken, and a fried egg. The spicy bite is topped with fried shallots and scallions.

Through these unprecedented times, masks are required for dine-in’s and tables are socially-distanced. The restaurant has a wide selection of Asian beer, wine, and sake.
