“Our main purpose is to bring people back to Cuba in the 1800’s,” says Chantell Perez, the Social Media Manager of Cuba 1800’s, “we want people to feel like they’re walking into a time machine.”

This family-owned restaurant is tucked in East Colonial, serving traditional Cuban dishes. The vintage Cuban vibe is conveyed through authentic decor pieces, which include flatiron chairs and eccentric light bulbs. Tentative team members foster a family-friendly atmosphere, emulating the homely hospitality of Cuban culture.

The restaurant’s Cuban dishes offer traditional food presented in aesthetic ways. Feast your eyes on a piece of our feast!

☕ Café Con Leche

This famous Cuban coffee features an amalgamation of espresso, milk, and leche condensada, which adds a creamy sweetness, pronounced by the frothy texture of the foam top. It’s a classic pick-me-up that will wake you up and add energy to your meal!

🥪 Cuban Sliders

These Cuban sandwiches offer a twist by utilizing Croquetas de Jamón instead of pork. The croquetas are composed of both sweet and regular ham, layered alongside Swiss cheese, and topped with pickles. The Cuban bread has a satisfying crisp while holding all the layers together.

🍛 Sea & Land

This dish includes both a seafood food and a land meat. The "sea” is portrayed through the Pargo frito, which is a Classic Cuban fried fish served whole. The fish was satisfyingly salty, in tandem with the texture of the tostones on the side. The “land” is conveyed through the masitas, which are fried pork chunks with a crunch that complimented the crispy fish. The salad offered a refreshing flavor between bites, composed of lettuce, cucumbers, and tomatoes doused in oil and vinegar.

🥛 Cuatro Leches

This novelty twist on a classic Cuban dessert offers the same components of a tres leches, but with leche condensada layered in as the fourth milk. The milk mixture was extremely rich, offering a decadently sweet bite. The leche condensada added a thicker creaminess to the dessert than an average tres leches. This is a satisfying ending for any sweet tooth!

This Cuban concept offers local vibes with live music on the weekend, alongside classic Cuban bites, like pastelitos and croquetas. If you’re looking for an authentic Cuban spot off East Colonial, try this spot out. It has a family-oriented vibe with personable service and Cuban comfort food.
