🌤️ Sunday Southern Spoonfuls at The Coop
“We’re honed in on the feedback our guests give to see how we can perfect what we do.” says Jonathan Poweski, General Manager of The Coop in Winter Park. This sister-restaurant of 4Rivers was previously closed on Sundays to emphasize the team’s value in faith and family time. However, they’re now open on Sundays to honor those values in a different way. They’re dedicating the day of rest to serving other families in the community.
The Coop specializes in southern fare instead of BBQ, with hearty comfort food that’s good for the soul. Their menu encompasses a variety of southern classics. Take a sight of our bites!
🧇 Chicken & Waffles
This dish is composed of southern fried chicken on waffle pillows, topped with egg and Hollandaise for a breakfast twist. The maple bourbon syrup adds a sweet richness to each bite.
🍗 Wings
The decently-sized wings come in a variety sauces. These particular wings encompassed a slight, tangy heat with a satisfyingly crispy texture, making it a zingy handheld menu item.
🍔 Chicken Sandwich
This sandwich features fried Cheerwine chicken between fluffy brioche buns. The chicken is fried with buttermilk, and drizzled in a natural hot sauce for some depth. The coleslaw and picked green tomato make the sandwich even more hearty.
🥪 Early Bird
This quick, go-to breakfast sandwich features southern fried chicken with a pour of Hollandaise. It’s topped with scallion, bacon, egg, and cheddar cheese for additional texture and taste, all atop a hoagie bun.
The warm environment feels like grandma’s kitchen with mismatched tables and chairs. The homey vibe is further conveyed with southern decor, including a chandelier from John River’s old house. Local guitar players are the perfect music choice to convey an easy Sunday morning. It’s a cozy brunch spot to visit after church.
