🥪 Eola General Loves The Locals
Holding the Hometown Vibe
“We want to include the stories of local vendors into our everyday conversations,” says Kristin Kulik, Manager of Eola General, “When you give back to local businesses, you’re investing back into the community.”
Eola General is a small bodega, café , and wine shop in the Historic Lake Eola Heights Neighborhood near Thornton. This dog-friendly store features items made from local vendors to help them share their story. An example is Wavelength Coffee, who offers their cold brew selection in the store.
“We’re not just serving a quality cup of coffee, but we’re doing good too,” states Juan Chirinos, owner of Wavelength, “We partnered with Downtown Credo because we love their mission. We have local roasters and try to have the best sourcing for beans.”
We were invited to check out the quaint vibes of this cute, neighborly bodega. Check out some of the sights and bites!
Wine Selection
“Our selection of wines are made organic without any harmful additives; Mother Nature is the wine-maker,” clarifies Matt Uva, who spearheads the Wine & Beer program in the store.
Charcuterie
The selection of charcuterie boards include the Daily Cheese Sampler and House-Made Jerky Plate. The board with the greatest variety of tastes is the Pickle Plate.
Wavelength Coffee
The cold brew bar features a flat coffee, Nitro, a Coconut cold brew, alongside a Southern-Style Black Tea. The Coconut cold brew has the perfect hint of coconut without tasting overly sweet; it wasn’t destroyed with syrup.
Savory Sandwiches
The Messy General features a chicken & waffle sandwich with kettle chips and slaw. The Buffalo Cauli is a great vegan option, with buffalo cauliflower and a citrus-cilantro-cashew sauce. Both tasted equally savory, despite one of the sandwiches being vegan!
The old-fashion, hometown vibe of Eola General is conveyed through the chic aesthetic and locally-sourced products. It’s a place where you can grab a cool beer or natural wine and catch up with a friend.
“You don’t see a lot of neighborhood markets anymore,” expresses Kristin, “We want this to be a chill hang out spot and one of the reasons why Orlando is cool.”
