🐮 Munching on Magnificent Meals at Mu

“There were some people advising not to open a new restaurant because of the pandemic, but my gut said to keep pushing forward,” says Claudio Dominguez, who opened up Mu Restaurant two months ago, “I didn’t want to give up on a dream.”

This restaurant could be considered a hidden gem, as it’s attached to a gas station at Kissimmee. Despite the exterior, the contrastingly aesthetic interior makes visitors feel like they’re walking into another world. Decor elements like a grass wall, bulb lighting fixtures, brown suede seating, and kraft table runners provide a hipster vibe to the restaurant, making the gas station exterior feel more like a speakeasy. Claudio named the restaurant Mu, coined after a mooing cow he noticed when brainstorming the restaurant concept.

Chef Nibaldo Urdaneta is from Venezuela, featuring pan-latin cuisine via the Mu menu. The dishes at this spot present latin food in a beautiful way. Take a sight of our bites!

🐟 Ceviche

The fish is fresh, brightened by the sweetness of the mango, and spiced with onion and aji. The lime and orange add a tang to each bite, served alongside tostones for scooping. The citrus-sweet balance makes the acidic taste extremely smooth.

🧀 Burrata

This menu item is perfect for vegetarians who want a light bite. The fresh burrata sits upon a bed of spring mix lettuce with cherry tomatoes scattered throughout. The drizzle of balsamic glaze adds a sweet tartness to the cheese.

🌭 Choripan

This sandwich features house-made chorizo for a mildly spicy bite, between two French buns. The chimichurri topping brightens the saltiness of the meat without taking away from its savory taste. The truffle fries are thinly cut, providing a solid crisp.

🍔 Burger

A 7 oz. premium patty is the center piece of this dish, with a grilled brioche for a fluffy bun that still holds it all together. The blue cheese is prominent in each bite, with even more complexity added from the flavors of the dried tomatoes, house-made pickles, and bacon.

“This is a home for us, everyone who works here is family,” clarifies Claudio, “when visitors come by, they’ll feel like they’re home.”
